Einfall, frame 1: a geometric grey face; through the slot in the forehead a grey grid is visible; the teardrop sits beside the eye. Einfall, frame 2: the teardrop slides down; coloured shapes appear above the grey grid. Einfall, frame 3: the grey grid sinks out of view; the coloured shapes fill the opening. Einfall, frame 4: scattered coloured shapes float in the opening of the head. Einfall, frame 5: the teardrop has fallen to the chin; the opening shows the new idea as loose coloured shapes.

Drag the teardrop

Einfall

German: a sudden idea — literally, something that falls in.

A tear falls, and the head opens. As the drop slides down the face, a hidden inlay moves with it: the grey grid of routine sinks out of sight, and the loose coloured shapes of a new idea fall into place.
